A Dream Is Born

A star spangled sky
A whisk of cloud in the air
A thousand hopes and dreams
In the silence out there
A wish upon a star
Gold to the rainbows end
A knight in shining armor
To his mistress be sent

But a cry breaks this silence
The muffled sound of your tears
As a dream falls and shatters
Not a sleeping soul hears
Its heart is sadly broken
And pain spreads upon its face
To know it has failed you
The dream dies in your embrace

But the night continues its business
To mend the hearts that are torn
For every dream that dies in vain
Another two must be born
So as you weep for the shattered
And your world seems fallen apart
A new dream shines upon you
And slowly, it fills your heart
