| Monique Dupree, born December 10, 1974 in Newark, New Jersey is a singer and a B-movie horror actress also known as the
First Black Scream Queen. |
Her film career began at age of 14 in the film Lean on Me starring Morgan Freeman. It was then, she realized that acting was the career path in which she'd take. By the age of 18, she had done numerous stage productions including the play
Cry of the People by Robert Banks. Monique's career really began to take off when she appeared on
Fangoria Radio for a "Scream Queen" contest. It was then when she met Lloyd Kaufman of Troma and landed a part in the movie
Pot Zombies. Since then, she's been in over a dozen films including
American Gangster, Life Support ,The Replacements and
Bikini Bloodbath 3. She is most noted for the film Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the
Damned for the extensive makeup work and role as the vampire Emerald. In 2006, Monique Dupree was named
Silver Bullet Pictures' Scream Queen of the Year.

Monique has done as much modeling as she's done acting. In addition to working with Troma Entertainment in films, she was not only the first African American tromette but she's also the first to date to return as a Tromette for a second time. She currently resides in NYC and works on several independent horror as well as films in various other genres yearly. She's also lead singer for a band called
Negro Childe.
Monique Dupree makes it a point to make her fans a priority, making her presence known at horror & comic book conventions alike all across the country. She's appeared as a guest at conventions such as
Fangorias weekend of horrors, Dark X mas, Big Apple
