I see the point you're trying to make. You have every right to like or dislike whatever you want. What we are talking about are the people who are just trying "be cool". Saying the like metal, and only knowing the popular songs, or only able to name 3 or 4 popular bands. We are trying to go beyond all that. Because chances are you know music I don't. Or I might know music you don't. So if we all discuss thses things here, we learn and expand our collection of music to a broader scope. It may sound like we're on a jihad, but it's not quite that bad. All we're trying to do is be able to have a place where all the pop princesses won't come.

 I don't really consider myself a poser, per say, but I didn't know about that tour you mentioned. I'll have to check it out and see if it's coming close.

Okay. I see how it is suppose to work. But, what about people around the world that consider Disturbed, Stone Sour, Korn, or any other lame ass crapridden band metal? I believe them to be perpetrading a fraud, thus making them posers. When I think of metal I think of bands like Behemoth, Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, Carcass, At The Gates...bands that actually have talented instead of some crappy gimmick to make people think they are cool like screeching like a monkey, wearing masks, not wearing masks, and just plain sucking by using the same downtuned chords in every song and then releasing a bunch of crappy albums one after the other. Its really lame and uncalled for.

I totally agree with you, man. The Korn - led Nu-metal Revolution is just that. Revolting. I remember the glory days of metal. Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Overkill, Slayer, Morbid Angel, and the countless others that built the foundation for the great metal acts of today.

lol what were u TRYING to say here? I have Vivaldi and Chopin in my CD player in my car. I get plenty of inspiration from classical today. Helps me write awesome harmony lines. So, u are mistaken.

1st off, I would like someone to define poser for me....here is an example of how I used it back in high school...I have since grown up now.

Kid has Johnny Cash on his myspace, pictures, a hit song, maybe the movie poster. I ask him what does he think about Johnny Cash's death...he says...What he died?

THATS what I would consider a poser. I don't consider people who like crappy music posers. I consider them lame. As for the posts down below about how OzzFest is gonna suck and Family Values Tour is gonna be so mega freakin awesome....no.

I would consider both of those tours poserridden crapfests (if I were in high school!). The only REAL metal tour that has been going on for the better part of this year is the Brewtalitour.

The bands on that are: Animosity, As Blood Runs Black, The Faceless, and Beneath the Massacre. That show is fuckin brewtal, and those are REAL metal bands. But I guess only none posers would know about that tour huh?

 I'm coming off as an asshole and I know it... I just wish it wasn't so easy to lump people into sterotypical bullshit categories.

You like what you like and that's that.

If you listened to my playlist on my page I have GREAT bands on there. Some of you won't like them because you will not know a bunch...but that doesn't make me a poser. Think about it.

I play melodic metal. Music that takes talent. Not like some lame ass dropped C three chord nu-metal shit fest. If you have anything against what classical has done for metal, take it up with Randy Rhoads who was an amazing classical guitar player. Hell even Dimebag took some classical training (The Great Redneck Hope!). Metallica who did a whole freaking show with an entire fuckin symphony! U dumb blind ass un-metal loser.
