I love the gross out foods too!! Usually the foods are pretty similiar each year, it just depends on the theme what names I come up with for each dish.

Edible Corpse
I had a blast one time making an edible corpse. Brain: Crab spread made in brain mold Head: Meatloaf w/ bloody sauce, Deviled egg eyes, almond teeth Adam's apple: Baked apple with gummy worms Ribs: Two racks of ribs Heart: Jello with licorce whips as veins & bag of red, dyed cornstarch so when you stabbed it, it bled Stomach: Bowl of gaucamole Arms: Subs Hands & Fingers: Bread/sticks Intrails: Long roll of string cheese Genitals: Pomegranite for nads & cheese filled bratwurst Legs: Veggies Feet: Pumpkin bread You must use surgical tools as serving utensils:)

I like that edible corpse idea! I might have to work on that for this year.

It's not a food, but I freeze green tinted (food coloring) water in latex gloves for use in coolers and cold trays. I've even been known to paint on black finger nails. Just a little more eye candy. Hi, by the way, I just joined SinisterSpace and I love it all ready.

Ice tricks
I love the latex gloves ice deal! I once made an eyeball drink once like that. I put a pineapple slice as a retna & licorice whips as veins in a bowl & froze it. Took it out of the bowl & flipped it in a punch so this huge eyeball was hovering in it. Not so impressive after several hours.

I used to go crazy with the food, too, but most of it never got eaten, so I've pared it down a bit. There are always to 2 different punches, one "leaded" and one "unleaded" (for the drivers and my son & his friends). I, too, make the icy hands and float them in the bowl. Everyone always gets a kick out of them, even though it's the easiest thing in the world to do. In the past, I've made Kitty Litter Cake and almost nobody ate it, it looked so real! (Maybe it was because I also have 4 cats....hmmmm.....) I've made a Caterpillar sandwich, was was a loaf of French Bread sliced like you would for sandwiches, but not all the way through. Mayo on each side of the "slices", stuffed with ham and cheese in between. Heated in the oven so the cheese melts. Add toothpicks with olives on the end for eyes , add some quacamole for dipping ("smashed caterpillar guts") and Voila! You've got a winner!

Circus peanuts
I like to get the orange circus peanuts cut out a tip & insert red hot tamales (the jelly bean looking candies) as fingernails.

Party Menu Ideas
What kind of food does everyone serve at their bash? Our parties have gotten so big that we now have a Gross Grub contest every year. Each guest brings a disgusting delight and we vote on the best one. Everyone has a blast coming up with new ideas every year AND I don't have to make all of the food myself. The last time I did a full menu, we served: Coagulated Blood Balls (meatballs) Spinal Cord Spirals (sliced wraps) Savory Brain Shrimp Spread Hauntery Jack Cheeseball Vampire Vomit (hot artichoke dip w/green food coloring) Shaved Skin on Musty Crusts (cheese and crackers) Bread of the Dead Witches Fingers (cookies) Ginger-Dead Men Kitty Litter Cake Dragon's Blood Pina Ghouladas I have some great photos of some of these, but they aren't digital. I'll try to scan them and post later.
