Intro to the book "The Down and Dirty on Paranormal Investigators"
I have had many people ask me, "So Lu, what is this book (The Down and Dirty on Paranormal Investigators)  going to be about?"
Well, here is the introduction. See for yourself...

Welcome to the Underworld of Paranormal Investigation:

Becoming a paranormal investigator seems to be the hobby of the cool folk these days: you get to wear a lot of slimming black and have a Myspace page fit for a rock star. Television shows such as Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State are largely responsible for this current fascination with all things paranormal.  The number of paranormal groups has grown exponentially over the past few years and veteran groups, those who were investigating paranormal events years before the craze hit, have had to contend with the bored housewives, the harem builders (men founders with only female investigators), the frauds, the new found sensitives, the thrill seekers (who just want to scare the crap out of themselves) and the just plain ignorant starting their own groups. New groups spring up every day to take on those things that go bump in the night.

So how would someone who thinks they are experiencing  a paranormal event wade through all that muck to find some legitimate help?  There are the issues of psychological impact for the client regarding belief systems and personal biases of the investigators. There are the highly technical groups and there are the groups that just bring in their sensitives to wander through the client's home where they occasionally say something profound according to their feelings.... and then, there is every type of group in between.

This book's sole purpose is to educate and provide little known information to the public regarding the culture, practices and philosophies of paranormal investigators and their groups. This book will take a look at both the virtues and the vices of the paranormal community (as it is often referred to) and assist those who are looking for a competent paranormal investigation group when they think there may be a paranormal event taking place in their home.
