Death Angel<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

My Death Angel dances in my shadow again.

He's been with me so long she's become my best friend,
His boney fingers are smoothly stroking my skin,
He's there to remind me my life someday will end.

I was a just a child, when I first became aware,
After Kennedy was shot, I knew he was there,
I was only five years old but I didn't dare,
Tell anyone he was with me, now I don't care.

The first time I saw him was a crash on my bike,
He came to take me, but it did not end my life.
My soul was thrust in my body; back to my strife.
I had children to be born, women to make my wife.

He was there when my friend died of Hep. C,
The last deadly gift that he unknowingly gave me,
A blood pact we made to care for his son Creed,
He passed me the disease, but bound, I did the deed.

The Death Angel rejoiced going to the Hospice in Kent,
He took my Mother's soul when to Heaven it was sent.
He went to the hospital as my Father's life was spent.
When I don't feel him with me to death is where he went.

So I go through life looking forward to death,
Even though my Death Angels' there with every breath.
My hope is failing; I sink into despairs depth,
I won't know when it's coming only when it's gone forth.

My legs are failing my body grows numb,
I pray every night for my soul he will come.
My Death Angel's with me when to pain I succumb,
My Death Angel's mercy I'm begging for some.

When darkness comes and my shadow disappears,

My Death Angel lies with me; I know he's always here.
I lay with him nightly and when sleep draws near,
I feel his warm embrace and his breath in my ear.

I no longer fear him or what he will do,
I'll be with the Death Angel until my life is through.
We are old friends now that much is true.

He'll take my soul to heaven, I'll find peace too.
